Advanced Practice and Loss Mitigation (APLM) for Naturopathic Physicians Program
The APLM program is a copyrighted, internet protocol, one hour programmed learning offering designed specifically for naturopathic physicians. The objective of this program is to reduce the risk of a liability loss or encounter. Course material includes a review of applicable regulatory issues including liability law and administrative code, effective charting, standards of care, standards of conduct, duty of care, techniques for dealing with difficult and disgruntled patients, strategies for avoiding situations that may result in a patient complaint and a review of the liability and discipline systems. The material has been carefully researched to reflect current legal knowledge as well as prior experience with the practice of naturopathic medicine.
The course is designed for naturopathic physicians who have graduated from an accredited school of naturopathic medicine and are licensed to practice. The material is focused and concise with emphasis on the key learning points. The format is designed to make the most efficient use of each doctor’s time and improve retention. The course is followed by a brief exam. Successful completion meets the preferred doctor requirements for the Sprague Israel Giles Naturopathic Malpractice Insurance Program.
