Dr. Dan
Labriola is a practicing Naturopathic Physician and founder of the Northwest Natural Health-Specialty Care Clinic in Seattle , Washington . He is the consultant for a number of area hospitals specializing in the appropriate use of alternative care modalities for patients utilizing conventional medical treatments for cancer and other chronic diseases. He has assisted patients and physicians effectively combining conventional and alternative methods for more than a decade. He is one of the first alternative care physicians to treat patients in a hospital environment on a regular basis.
Dr. Labriola is a graduate of Syracuse University and the Bastyr University . He is a Member of the Cancer Lifeline Medical Advisory Committee and the Hepatitis Education Project Board of Directors. He was the first ever Special Advisor to the Secretary and Department of Health for Alternative and Complementary Medicine and Chair of the Naturopathic Advisory Committee for the State of Washington Department of Health, President of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians, member of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, member of the State of Washington Health Personnel Resource Plan. Dr. Labriola has been a leader in the introduction of natural medicine to the public, governments and medical facilities both in the United States and internationally. He has also been a faculty member at Bastyr University .
Dr. Labriola is a recognized and experienced author and lecturer providing training and information for medical physicians, pharmacists, alternative care providers and the public. He has provided clinical seminars and training for many organizations including the University of Washington School of Medicine, University of Washington Medical Center Cancer Center, Washington State Medical Association, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center , Children's Hospital and Medical Center , Seattle Society of Hospital Pharmacists, Drug Information Association, Cancer Research Center of Hawaii and many more. He chaired the Cambridge Health Resources Conference for Integrating Complementary Therapies for Cancer. Dr. Labriola is the author of Complementary Cancer Therapies , a definitive text for the combination of conventional and natural treatments, published by Prima Publishing. His other publications include the landmark paper Possible interactions between dietary antioxidants and chemotherapy published in the scientific, peer-reviewed journal Oncology and Compliance and your women patients: How managed care combined with the popularity of complementary medicine is affecting your practice published in Northwest Physician. His presentations are clear, understandable and entertaining, and are noted for including audience participation. Dr. Labriola was honored as one of “The city's top 350 physicians” in a poll of physicians and other providers published by Seattle Magazine.

My medical practice is centered on Pulmonary Medicine and Internal Medicine with treatment modalities utilizing botanicals, orthomolecular therapy, counseling and physical medicine. I graduated from Bastyr University in 1989 with the degree of Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. I also have Bachelors in Health Science. I have taught classes in Oncology, Pulmonary Medicine, Nutrition, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Immunology, Laboratory Medicine, Cardiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, and Sport Medicine. My professor affiliations have been with Bastyr University as an associate professor of pulmonary medicine. I served as Chair of Western Medicine department at NIAOM, Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, from 1997 to 2002.
